Hotfile and their Gay Scam – Part 2

So, I decided to step things up a notch and take it head on with Hotfile. Exchanged a couple emails with them, and here’s the entire conversation.

Initially, I started off with asking them why my account was banned. I bought it less than 24 hours ago, and it was deleted.

Their response was:

Yes, pretty much noobish. They have a transparent limit of 200GB/day. They do not publicly mention about this limit anywhere on their website, and then try to cover it with their generic lies of ‘account sharing’ and ’system cheating’.

My reply was:

And of course, as expected. Their amateurish reply. Whoever was assigned to deal with emails, is not mature enough to handle it. A slightly provoking comment was all it took for them to ‘tawk liike thiis’. Their phrases, ‘what will you do’, ‘we are not amateurs’, etc.. you would believe you were talking to some newbie on the web!

And then, finally, my reply:

Final Verdict?
As of right now, we’ll drop support for Hotfile. For the next 24-48 hours, that is.
I need to talk to Dman, and figure a solution to this situation. Up until today, me and Dman agreed that Rapidshare was gay, and popular for no reason. We’ve just reconsidered that. And now we truly know, why Rapidshare really IS popular, despite all their unfair policies. At least, they put those policies out there, instead of misleading their premium users. In the case of Hotfile, they could not have cared less.

That really sucks about hotfile and that you guys have to drop them from the public server. But are you also considering dropping it for the premium users? Because all I ever really use is rapidshare and hotfile here (I sadly bought a two year account from megaupload before finding out about this service, which I would prefer giving you guys the money over MU).

You’re right we can’t really put RS back. But we appreciate RS being honest about their limits. We won’t be dropping hotfile anytime soon. Premium server will always have hotfile don’t worry about that :)

This is a pathetic handling of the situation from some prejudiced nut of a service rep in hotfile. I would suggest attempting to contact his superiors and getting him screwed.

Just a reply is not enough. It’ll go to some outlook recycle bin and that’ll be the end of it.

I suggest having them (the superiors) know exactly how the TOS have not been violated. And how this CS Rep has been an utter noob.

then release to me with time limit
Please try to download from above website and get the clear idea

Unfortunately, their pathetic and vague Terms of Service will protect them in the event we decide to go legal against them.

Seeing as how we want to avoid the legal side of this entire issue, we’ve come up with a decent idea. And of course, we’ll resume HF support ;)

I’ve always, personally, been a fan of Megaupload (and Megashares). They are the only hosts that are truly unlimited and high speed. Unfortunately, both have sucky rewards programs, and that’s the reason uploaders upload to HF and the likes.

Sad to see the sharing spirit turn into a money making rush.

    Hi Dman & Hamza,

I’m cpu, one of the replier post (I believe in here, blog.rapidpremium.net/whats-going-on-updates-here) which got deleted…

so, you move on from donate to premium, thats good.

I has same thought with Aslam kokni, and I can see the difference.

    back to the topic,
I’ve hf account and about two weeks ago I report some question (I thought that was a bug) regarding ‘new-look’ in hf website using their contact page, and they replied with http://i44.tinypic.com/2mydnhx.jpg.
    What kind of reply??

“how this CS Rep has been an utter noob.”
    I agree with this.
maybe they have many fresh graduated in CS-REP division.. so need experience how to handle customer… or they are supernoob?

I suggest having them (the superiors) know exactly how the CS-REP handled customer. and see from their point of view.

PS:if someone from hf read my post, please don’t ban my id, because I need my cashout first, lol.

Great Job Hamza, I really like that u stood up for ur right.

Here is tip that i think would help.

    their point: –
As they are saying u used multiple IPs to download and thus u have shared ur account.

    reply them: -
I have access to multiple PCs at different locations of world with REMOTE DESKTOP ACCESS facility activated, and I used it to download my files.

This should shut their trash mouth

    best luck

Well, it’s very strange this situation.
Obviously you use your premium hotfile account for you rapidpremium.net and multiple people (that’s sharing) use one account to download and you believe this is OK?
Also I don’t know about 200GB daily limit but this number is huge (even there is limit).
Rapidshare gives me 25GB max at once?

The internet is littered with such complaints of Hotfile suspending accounts. Seriously, I don’t know what’s wrong with Hotfile. Seems like the whole company is run by a 12 year old. They have suspended so many accounts of innocent people who neither share their account nor download excessively that new potential customers like me have lost faith in them. There’s always that gripping fear now that they might suspend your account and your money will go down the drain.

RapidShare has changed my password many times due to account sharing but never ever suspended them. Whenever you remote upload, there’s bound to be excessive bandwidth usage & multiple IP detection but that’s no reason to suspend accounts.

They claim unlimited downloads and yet they don’t like us to pull too much bandwidth. WTF? How come a helpdesk professional replies like that? Why should they care if I download 40 or 100 DVDs per day? When I payed for the account, I believe I bought the right to download a 1000 DVDs/day even if it came to that.

This is where MegaUpload beats them all. They simply don’t care what you do with your account. One of my friends is sharing his lifetime account with 16 different people and leeching over 500gb daily using his server but MU couldn’t care less lol. Hats off to them.

What’s the deal then Hotfile? I just bought 6 months and am seething. I’m taking my business elsewhere. Your loss.
Now you’re losing all your uploaders, (serves you right – wankers], what’s your bank manager going to say? Get a job!?
Judging by the replies to H, Hotfile staff, [monkeys and organ grinders], need some tutoring on globalisation, growth, success, etc, (we could go on), but let’s not forget CUSTOMER SERVICE.
