Okay. Well, I don't know what you are planning to do because of this, but from the beginning, since I have my own RS account, I was never really interested in using RapidPremium for RS and always thought it just bumped up the cost for me per month due to the cost of providing it for us. Now I would have originally said, it would be nice to offer accounts without RS for a cheaper price, but now that things have changed, maybe the only option is to drop RS from the current accounts and to offer it as an set extra $ amount per month. Obviously this is just a bare basic suggestion, and there are options like, leaving RS included on the current accounts until the expiry date, and any renewals or new accounts from today will not include it unless they choose to pay the extra for it.

I'm currently typing a sizable blog post on the changes at Rapidshare.

It's for the worse. Traffic share was quite convenient. However, with the new system, our costs of RS bandwidth are expected to at least double, if not more.

We're still considering a lot of options. And we cannot ignore the fact that you'll see a LOT LESS rapidshare links now for every and anything that you search. Of course, the transition to other filehosts will be gradual.

More info in my upcoming blog post.
